can i use my chopper as a blender?

I’ve read about people using blenders as choppers, and I know most things like this come with multiple blades…
BUT
can my electric food chopper be used as a single or 2 person serve blender?

I get salad at a local salad place where you go in and choose your ingredients and then they put all the ingrediants you chose for your salad including the type of lettuce into a chopping machine. What comes out is yummy chopped evenly mixed ingrediants in a matter of seconds.

So I tried doing this in my food processor and no matter how little I tried pulsing it- it cut the pieces of my salad way too little- almost to a salsa. Especially the leaves of lettuce.

What kind of chopper do you think these guys use. I’d really like to get one. I would totally eat more salads if all I had to do to make one was dump all the ingrediants in a machine at once and it spit out a nicely chopped salad.

what to do for my 30'th birthday?

I’m turning 30, I have a 2 year old, and a 3 month old who is breastfeeding still… But as this is the first milestone birthday party of adult life, I want to approach it a bit differently to previous big birthdays like the 21st. Something that includes my kids, friends, food, and classic drinks, and mocktales. I dont want to have it at home because it means I have to prep and clean, and I dont want it to be in a place I cant bring my kiddies. any ideas?

Food ideas for camping…Plz?

There will be 6 of us. Most of the cooking will be done on a gas grill, but I will be at my cabin which also has pretty much a full kitchen including a fridge. We’ll be on the river partying all day so I really want something I could prep in the a.m then just throw on grill at night. We will be there for 5 days so I need more than just hamburgers and hot dogs. Thanks. All ideas welcome =)

Good vegetarian party food?

I’m having a party in a week, and I need some vegetarian food that will not only look pretty but also taste very good! (Most of my friends are omnivores, and they think all we eat is tofu. I so need to prove them WRONG! Cuz personally, I rarely eat tofu, but that’s not cause it’s not good, I just don’t like cooking it, lol)
SO! Appetizers preferably, but some small entrees and snacks, too! (Finger food is great!)

ANYWAY, if it could be under an hour prep time that would be great, I’ll have to cook all this myself.

Do you get sick from veggie burgers?

Warning this question may ruin your lunch!

Has anyone else experienced mild food poisoning when ordering veggie burgers or gardenburgers from chain restaurants (Ruby’s Diner, Applebees, Red Robin).

I have gotten what i can only describe as "bubble gut" (sudden diarrhea) within a half hour eating a veggie patty burger at all three of these restaurants. I didn’t attribute to the actual patty the first two times, I thought it was bad food prep. This third time today at Applebees about 3 bites into the burger I got sick and had to leave the table.

I am a vegetarian, I eat lots of different veggies and have never had any reaction like that. What could be in these that is making me sick? Anybody else experienced this

OK, I’ve been on the "model diet" all summer and now that school is starting, I have to force myself to eat breakfast again. I’m trying to go gluten free, but emphasis on TRYING. Also, nothing fattening if you can help it, and I want it to NOT taste like crap. Since this is for before school, I have like fifteen minutes to prep and eat. I do not do instant foods like those terrible smoothies, and I will avoid sugar as much as possible. Suggestions would be appreciated, sorry if this makes me sound like a total snob ( I could use another word to describe it ), and I promise you I am usually not like that, it’s just that I’m stressed out right now, I apologize.

What would you recommend for a beginner Cook Book?

I would like a recommendation for a book of basic recipes (simple salads, great scrambled eggs, etc…) that use simple, healthy, and cost effective ingredients, ideally with low prep time as well.

I want to start getting into cooking food for myself that is both enjoyable, easy to grasp, and better quality than just making kraft mac and cheese.
