We recently moved to a neighborhood that lacks a decent Indian food delivery place, so I’m trying to make it at home. Problem is, my boyfriend and I always ordered different dishes, and I’d like to keep the number of different dishes I have to prepare to a minimum. The two dishes we like that are most similar are paneer makhani (him) and tikka masala (me), but he insists they are different. Does anyone know what the difference between the two sauces is? Can I make one batch of sauce for both dishes, or at least prep it most of the way and separate it into two pans before adding whatever key ingredients are required?
Thanks in advance.

It think it was a type of Meican food. I know it had pieces of pork chops in it and some kind of gravy type sauce and then she’d roll it up in a tortialla, it was spicy and so good. Does anyone know what i’m talking about?

I’ve finally come to the conclusion that I can no longer purchase or prepare animal foods for my husband (I’ve already stopped eating them myself). When I first switched over and my husband thought I was ridiculous for doing so, I knew he wouldn’t touch a lot of my vegan foods. Now he’s getting used to the idea and likes to sample from my meals.
My guilty conscience is weighing heavy on me for continuing to buy him the (meaty) foods that he enjoys, so I’ve decided that after we use up what’s already in the house, I’m no longer going to buy or prepare any meats. I would also like to completely stop buying eggs/dairy, but my problem is the whole soy issue: I feel like there are so many mixed messages regarding males and the consumption of soy products. We plan on trying for a baby within the next 4 years, and I don’t want to be pumping him full of soy if it’s going to lower his sperm counts.
-Does anybody have a reliable, impartial source that either confirms or debunks this information?
-Vegan males, do you still eat soy? How much? If not, do you have any non-soy meat-like suggestions? I think beans, lentils, and seitan as the main source of protein will probably run my husband down pretty quickly. He’s going to want some sort of meat substitute. Maybe I’ll just have to be a more creative chef?
Just to clarify: I’m not trying to "convert" my husband to veganism. I simply feel that it’s hypocritical for me to buy and prepare meat for him when there’s no way I would buy and prepare it for myself. I have no problem with him eating meat, that’s his choice, I just have a problem giving my money to an industry whose practices I don’t support. I’m not a fan of standing over a pan of searing flesh, either. So it’s not about conversion, it’s about me following my conscience.

The usual Nori with rice on the outside. Inside is a bit of each of these, watermelon, cucumber, radish sprouts, red bell pepper (blanched), chopped shrimp and a dribble of asparagus baby food. I haven’t tried this yet but am thinking of it.
Any other creative sushi ideas you have would be appreciated in response to this question—though no raw fish other than tuna.
